Filippo Mineccia

Filippo Mineccia foto The Italian Countertenor Filippo Mineccia is internationally recognized as one of the greatest specialist in Alto roles of the Great Castrato Era.
Born in Florence, Filippo Mineccia begins very early his musical studies in the prestigious School of Music of Fiesole, singing in the Polyphonic Choir. He continues at the “Luigi Cherubini” Conservatoire in Florence, obtaining the cello practice degree as well as the singing practice degree with Gianni Fabbrini and professor Donatella Debolini. Filippo’s great talent has been proven by winning several important prizes in national and international singing competitions. He has also participated as a soloist in many important Ancient Music Festivals and has cooperated with ensembles such as Il Complesso Barocco, La Capella de la Pietá de’ Turchini, Collegium Marianum, Capella Krakoviensis, Accademia Bizantina, Divino Sospiro, I Barocchisti, La Folia Barock orchester, Zucker Kammer Orchester and Auser Musici.
Filippo’s operatic repertoire contains roles of Giulio Cesare by G.F.Händel, Telamone in Ercole sul Termodonte by Antonio Vivaldi, Nerone in Ottavia Restituita al Trono by Domenico Scarlatti, Purcell’s Fairy Queen, or Alessandro in Händel’s Tolomeo Re d’Egitto. Also his recent and future engagements in cities such as Rome(Carmina Burana at the Teatro dell’Opera in Rome), Halle(the title role in Händel’s Silla at the Handel festival in Halle conducted by Enrico Onofri), or Vienna (Ottone in Händel’s Agrippina at the Theater an der Wien) declare Filippo as an extraordinary singer.
